Snooze to Lose Weight

Saturday, March 10, 2007
As I was lying on a bed reading newspaper, I came across this interesting article on what sleep has got to do with weight loss. It triggers my curiosity to ponder how possible a person can lose weight just by sleeping. It sounds so crazy simple.

So wear your pajamas now, and I will read you a story. :p

Once upon time, there is a famous Hollywood actress owes her beauty and slender body frame to very large amounts of sleep. Rumor has it that it’s not unusual for her to snore away her 24 hours in bed. Some say thanks to her personal chefs, trainers, makeup artists and hairdressers, but sleep plays an important part here, an influential aid to beauty and weight loss.

Well, let’s explore how a sleep affect your ability to lose weight.

1. Insufficient sleep creates hunger.
People who don’t get enough sleep, will get ravenously hungry and crave for high sugar, high-fat food and drink.

2. Fasting while in hibernate mode.
While you asleep, can your mind summon your body to approach your favorite snack? Yes, it’s a no.

3. Boost of body fat.
Lack of sleep will cause improper carbohydrate absorption, which increase the sugar level in your blood, which then encourage body fat storage, and which eventually makes you look chubby.

Sleep will help you to lose weight, but to improve sleep you need to lose weight.
